Hilltop Christian stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Bethel Christian Academy 63-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Hilltop Christian has posted since December 4, 2023.
Hilltop Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Judah Lee, who scored 14 points along with six assists and three steals, and Caleb Manriquez, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Lee continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nehemiah Kassa, who scored four points along with three steals.
Southside Christian suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were beaten by Living Water Christian 76-47.
The losing side was boosted by Luke Boush, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 rebounds. That was a full 48.9% of Southside Christian's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Ethan Evans was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six steals.
Hilltop Christian pushed their record up to 19-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Southside Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Keep an eye on the arc in Monday's contest: Hilltop Christian have been dynamite from deep this season, having nailed 39.2% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Southside Christian, though, as they've only made 34.8% of their threes per game this season. Given Hilltop Christian's sizeable advantage in that area, Southside Christian will need to find a way to close that gap.
Hilltop Christian took their victory against Southside Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 57-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hilltop Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
