Baseball Game Preview: Freedom Patriots vs. Middleton Tigers

Freedom is a perfect 4-0 against Middleton since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Freedom Patriots will be playing at home against the Middleton Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Middleton took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Freedom, who comes in off a win.

While Freedom's victory against Brandon wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Freedom narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Brandon 6-4. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

Dylan Hand tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Those hits marked the first that he allowed this season.

At the plate, Parker Crafton was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Connor Cress, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Freedom hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Middleton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 11-1 to Leto. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Middleton's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Freedom, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Everything went Freedom's way against Middleton when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as Freedom made off with a 17-1 victory. Will Freedom repeat their success, or does Middleton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
