The Tome Titans will head out on the road to square off against the Tri-State Christian Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Tome is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
Tome's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on West Nottingham with a sharp 17-0 win. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Tristan Dunn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. Dunn was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Tome: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

Woods got on base in all three of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Reyes went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those four stolen bases gave Woods a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Robbie Reichlmann, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
Tome was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Tri-State Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Perry Hall Christian back in March and fell 5-3. The loss put an end to the Crusaders' undefeated start to the season.
Jake Bannon and Will Davis put in work no matter where they played. On the mound, Bannon pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Davis tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. At the plate, Bannon went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Davis got on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
The win got Tome back to even at 5-5. As for Tri-State Christian, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
Tri-State Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Tome hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .320. It's a different story for Tri-State Christian, though, as they've only averaged .207. Will they be able to contain Tome's hitters?
Tome suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Tri-State Christian in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
