The Chase County Longhorns can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Hitchcock County out 26-23. That's another feather in the cap for Chase County, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Katie Jarecke and Madysen Carlson certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Jarecke scored nine points, while Carlson scored six points along with two steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Hitchcock County struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Chase County's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Hitchcock County, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-13.
Chase County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hitchcock County, they will be playing at home against Wallace at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hitchcock County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday.
