If the Lightridge Bolts were feeling good off their 60-35 takedown of the Loudoun County Captains last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lightridge fell 53-46 to Stone Bridge on Monday.
Stone Bridge had a senior duo take command as Omar Abushaban scored ten points along with nine rebounds and Jackson Mazur dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that Mazur pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sam Rubino, who scored eight points.
Lightridge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Stone Bridge, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.
Lightridge will head out on the road to face off against Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Independence has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Stone Bridge, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Briar Woods at 7:15 p.m. Briar Woods is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
