Despite the loss, Johnsburg Central saw an underclassman step up: Nick Sauer-Jones scored 13 points along with six rebounds and five blocks. Sauer-Jones hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Vanderwarker, who scored three points along with seven steals.
Meanwhile, Indian Lake Central was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 58-52 to Wells. Indian Lake Central has not had much luck with Wells recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Johnsburg Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Indian Lake Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Johnsburg Central ended up a good deal behind Indian Lake Central in their previous meeting back in January, losing 50-33. Can Johnsburg Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
