Memorial Day has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Claxton Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Memorial Day comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Last Wednesday, Memorial Day lost to Coastal HomeSchool at home by a decisive 42-24 margin.
Despite the defeat, Memorial Day saw an underclassman step up: Charlotte Simon scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Claxton ended up a good deal behind Woodville-Tompkins on Friday and lost 55-40. Claxton has not had much luck with Woodville-Tompkins recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Memorial Day's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.3 points per game. As for Claxton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
