The Brunswick Railroaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 42-33 to Walkersville. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Brunswick in their matchups with the Lions: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Brunswick still got an impressive performance from Andie Welsh, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 18 rebounds. Welsh is crushing the block category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddy Hoffman, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Brunswick has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for Walkersville, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.
Brunswick and the Blazers will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Maryland (Clear Spring is ranked 191st, while the Railroaders are ranked 183rd). As for Walkersville, they will square off against the Warriors at TBD on Friday.
