Jupiter Christian put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Monday. They blew past Leonard 34-13. The win was a breath of fresh air for Jupiter Christian as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Jupiter Christian found their leader in underclassman Emilia Edgar, who scored 16 points. Anna Norus was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Morningside Academy struggled with assists on Tuesday (the Tigers had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Morningside Academy took a serious blow against the Tigers, falling 60-29. Morningside Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-16.
Morningside Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Giuliana Bonasera, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds, and Emmilina Miller who scored nine points. Bonasera is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last 17 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Wallace, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
The win got Jupiter Christian back to even at 8-8. As for Morningside Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-5.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Jupiter Christian have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 36.7 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Morningside Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 34.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
