Refugio strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past the Kaufer Seahawks 74-0. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 251st, while the Seahawks are ranked 1208th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Refugio had a senior duo take command as Fabian Garcia gained 152 total yards and three touchdowns and Johnaven Montalvo rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns. Montalvo's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards. Laytyn Garza was in the mix too, providing Refugio with two TDs.

Refugio was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 417 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 257 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Refugio's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Kaufer, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Refugio wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 64-7 victory against Santa Maria on the 10th. As for Kaufer, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 48-6 defeat against Freer on the 10th.
