River Hill (Clarksville, Md.) came into Saturday's contest ranked No. 9 in Maryland, but was stunned by
Howard (Ellicott City, Md.), 21-3. Howard was ranked at No. 23 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Maryland coming into the week.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Kevin Sheahin to
Neil Caruso in the second quarter, the Lions were up 13-3 at the half.
Howard came into the game allowing 16.3 points per game.
The loss comes after River Hill defeated Oakland Mills 49-6 last week. With the win HHS extended its winning streak to three games.
Howard (7-2) goes up against Long Reach in a Howard County game matchup next week, while River Hill (7-2) locks horns with Reservoir also in a Howard County game.
