The North Star Huskies struggled with threes on Friday (the Riverstone International Otters had six more) and sadly the final score reflected it. North Star received a tough blow as they fell 40-24 to Riverstone International. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points North Star has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why North Star lost, one person who can't be blamed is Blake Hansen. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Hansen scored a full 62.5% of North Star's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Jason Koval continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Riverstone International, scoring 22 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The contest was Koval's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amer Sangha, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for North Star and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Riverstone International, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
North Star will head out on the road to face off against New Plymouth at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Plymouth knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully North Star likes a good challenge. Riverstone International won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Hansen at 11:30 a.m. on December 9th.
