The Lassiter Trojans were the 58-38 winner over the Blessed Trinity Titans when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Lassiter was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 50-49 to Blessed Trinity. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Lassiter came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while Blessed Trinity is ranked 302nd).
Lassiter lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaden Emmanuelli, who scored 16 points. Jay Chege was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Lassiter and nudges their season record down to 18-8. As for Blessed Trinity, their victory bumped their record up to 6-20.
Lassiter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Blessed Trinity, they will square off against Sprayberry at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sprayberry has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
