After a string of three wins, Osage's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eldon Mustangs. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mustangs 25-18 in the first set.
Osage started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 28-26, 25-15, 25-21.
Claire Sallee paced Osage's offense, picking up 15 kills. Sallee got some help from Grace Ribaudo and her 38 assists. Finally, Sallee was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.
Eldon can attribute much of their success to Sarah Tompkins, who had 13 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Tompkins has posted over her last 15 matchups.
