After flying high against the Crescent Tigers last Friday, the Pendleton Bulldogs came back down to earth. Pendleton was beaten by Daniel 75-34 on Tuesday. Pendleton was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-8.
Pendleton lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Luke Gray, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kory Jones, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Pendleton struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Daniel pulled down 26 offensive rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Daniel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tristyn Carrington, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Will Swann, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Pendleton's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-10. As for Daniel, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-6.
Pendleton will head out on the road to challenge Walhalla at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Walhalla knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matches -- so hopefully Pendleton likes a good challenge. As for Daniel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Crescent at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Crescent is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
