The Auburn Mountainview Lions will challenge the Federal Way Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Federal Way will be up against a hot Auburn Mountainview squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Everything went the Lions' way against Kentlake on Friday as they made off with a 12-1 win. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by seven runs or more this season.
Brynna Erdmann was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Another player making a difference was Tessa Trippy, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.
Auburn Mountainview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .515. They are a perfect 12-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Federal Way ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 13-12 victory over Jefferson. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Like Auburn Mountainview, Federal Way also got a great game from a two-way player: Eva Adriano. She tossed eight innings while giving up just one earned (and ten unearned) runs off nine hits. Adriano was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, Federal Way got a massive performance out of Meeghan Meagher, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Those two stolen bases gave Meagher a new career-high. Sosephina Sailiai was another key player, going 5-for-6 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Auburn Mountainview's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Federal Way, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10.
Federal Way's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Auburn Mountainview has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Federal Way, though, as they've been averaging only 3.5 strikeouts. Will Auburn Mountainview keep running through batters, or will the Eagles buck the trend?
Auburn Mountainview took their win against Federal Way in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 22-1 score. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
