Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Newark). They secured a 53-47 W over the Earlville Red Raiders on Friday. The win was some much needed relief for the Norsemen as it spelled an end to their 18-game losing streak.
Earlville's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalie Hall, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. What's more, Hall also racked up five assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Bailey Miller was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten boards.
Newark's victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-18. As for Earlville, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-18.
Newark will take on Peotone at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Earlville, they will face off against Alden-Hebron at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
