3A Region II District 12 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Princeton extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region II District 12 this week by beating Anna, 59-28. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Princeton moved up to 187 from 241 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Stacey Dillard's team climbed the ranks as a result of besting the Coyotes 59-28.
The Panthers' dynamic duo of Jourdan Blake and Jakari Dillard proved tough for Anna to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Blake threw for 203 yards and two touchdowns and Dillard had 110 yards receiving. N'keal Bailey helped Princeton's passing attack out by catching two balls for 48 yards.
Marcus Ellis was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 229 yards on 15 carries as Melissa defeated Jason Heath's team. Chris Smith also contributed to the rushing game with 86 yards on the ground.
The Panthers' Blake and Dillard have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 3A Region II District 12 in both passing and receiving yards. Blake has thrown for 1431 yards this season, while Dillard, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 35 catches for 449 yards. Ellis from the Cardinals leads the league in rushing with 1024 yards.
