Truman waltzed into their match on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They blew past the Raytown Bluejays 14-4. That's more bragging rights for the Patriots, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Trevor Ottens looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Caden Deeney, who scored four runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Anthony Manfredi, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Truman pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Raytown, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

The future could be bright for both Truman and Raytown: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Truman will try to hand Raytown South their third-straight loss when the two meet at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Raytown will look to extend Ruskin's five-game losing streak when they meet at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
