Brianna Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cayla Wright, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Alejandra Wittman was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Clover Hill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 23 hits. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Dinwiddie was able to grind out a solid victory over Colonial Heights on Thursday, taking the game 12-7.
Dinwiddie let Nala Bain and Charleigh Davis run wild. Bain got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Davis got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that Bain has snagged this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Williams, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Clover Hill's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Dinwiddie, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Clover Hill has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Dinwiddie struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Clover Hill came up short against Dinwiddie when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 5-2. Will the Cavaliers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
