On Friday Barron Collier take on Palmetto Ridge at 7:00 PM. Barron Collier will be strutting in after a victory while Palmetto Ridge will be stumbling in from a defeat.
Barron Collier might be getting used to good results now that the squad have five wins in a row. They captured a comfortable 30-13 win over Gulf Coast. Junior Drew Powell, who rushed for 179 yards and 2 touchdowns, was a major factor in Barron Collier's success. If you haven't heard Powell's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past seven games.
Meanwhile, Palmetto Ridge found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 17-46 punch to the gut against Immokalee last Friday. The state rankings had actually given Palmetto Ridge a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
The last time the two teams met, Barron Collier were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap the last time the two teams met, as they fell 28-34 to Palmetto Ridge. Can Barron Collier avenge their loss, or is history doomed to repeat itself ? We'll soon find out.
