The Mescalero Apache Chiefs will head out on the road to take on the Tularosa Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Mescalero Apache came into Saturday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They managed a 56-52 victory over Lordsburg on Saturday. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Mescalero Apache considering their 21-point performance the matchup before.
Mescalero Apache's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Laurdis Sundayman, who scored 13 points along with three steals, and Kaylionna Rocha, who scored 13 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Paisley Pike was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Tularosa entered their tilt with the Tigers with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Tularosa claimed a resounding 43-11 win over the Tigers at home. Tularosa has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 22 points or more this season.
Mescalero Apache's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-9. As for Tularosa, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.
Mescalero Apache might still be hurting after the 54-31 defeat they got from the Wildcats in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Mescalero Apache avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
