On Tuesday, Navarro suffered a rough 55-30 defeat at the hands of Hyde Park.
Hyde Park's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Rankin, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds. Rankin continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Knox Riemondi, who scored 13 points.
Navarro has yet to win a game at home this season, leaving them with a 1-7 record. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.0 points per game. As for Hyde Park, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Navarro will square off against McCallum at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. McCallum presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Navarro in Texas (McCallum is ranked 504th, while Navarro is ranked 1493rd). Hyde Park will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Eastside Early College at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th. Eastside Early College knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Hyde Park likes a good challenge.
