Basketball Recap: Northwestern Piles Up the Points Against Key West

Northwestern had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the Key West Conchs 60-21. The Bulls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 games by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Myah Newton, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Tayana Dixon, who posted six points along with ten rebounds and three steals.

Northwestern smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Northwestern's win bumped their record up to 19-4. As for Key West, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-20.

Northwestern will face off against St. Brendan on Saturday. Northwestern is facing St. Brendan at the right time seeing as St. Brendan is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Key West does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
