The Trico Pioneers won the last time they faced the Shawnee Redskins, and things went their way on Monday too. Trico breezed by Shawnee at home to the tune of 46-16.
Leading Trico to victory were Greta Jones and Taylor Cottom. Jones scored 11 points along with seven steals and five assists, while Cottom scored 26 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cottom has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelyn Kranawetter, who scored two points along with seven rebounds.
Trico's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-14. As for Shawnee, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.
Trico's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Wayne City at 12:00 p.m. on February 10th. As for Shawnee, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Century at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Shawnee comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
