The Heide Trask Titans will head out on the road to challenge the Lumberton Pirates at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Heide Trask's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Lumberton's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Heide Trask took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They blew past Red Springs 16-2. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 11 runs or more this season.
Dava Bullard made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Heide Trask let Taylor Sparkman and Jalyn Reece-Murray run wild. Sparkman went 2-for-3 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI, while Reece-Murray went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases Sparkman has posted since back in April of 2025. Gia Odom was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs.
Heide Trask hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Lumberton had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 7-2 win over Fairmont on Monday.
Norah Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, Jaelyn Hammond and Ava Hanna did most of the damage at the plate: Hammond went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Hanna went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Leea Wilkins, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
The victory got Lumberton back to even at 8-8. As for Heide Trask, their record now sits at 6-3.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Heide Trask hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. However, it's not like Lumberton struggles in that department as they've averaged .372. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
