The Broadalbin-Perth Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Gloversville Huskies at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Broadalbin-Perth couldn't beat Hudson Falls on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Patriots lost 14-8 to the Tigers. Even though they lost, the Patriots' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.1 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Adrianna Smith made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Marley Morin, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Gloversville came up short against Amsterdam on Monday, falling 17-2.
Gloversville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Camella Wolcott, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that Wolcott has hit this season.
Gloversville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Broadalbin-Perth, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.
Gloversville's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Broadalbin-Perth has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Gloversville, though, as they've been averaging only 3.9 strikeouts. Will Broadalbin-Perth keep running through batters, or will the Huskies buck the trend?
