Parkwood has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Mount Pleasant Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Parkwood has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 174 points over their last three games.
Last Tuesday, Parkwood was able to grind out a solid win over Buford, taking the game 59-47. 59 seems to be a good number for Parkwood as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Parkwood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cameron McKinney , who scored 20 points. The match was McKinney 's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Greg Vinson, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Mount Pleasant's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Forest Hills 74-69. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
The win got Parkwood back to even at 4-4. As for Mount Pleasant, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-6.
Parkwood came out on top in a nail-biter against Mount Pleasant in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, sneaking past 53-51. Does Parkwood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mount Pleasant turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
