The Victor Pirates had to endure a five-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Two Eagle River by a score of 44-33 on Tuesday. The victory was just what Victor needed coming off of a 47-26 loss in their prior contest.
Two Eagle River's loss came despite strong showings from Emma Spotted Eagle and Dayani Piapot. Spotted Eagle scored six points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Piapot scored 11 points along with three steals. Piapot is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Victor's victory bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Two Eagle River, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-6.
Victor will square off against Drummond at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Two Eagle River, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Regis at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
