Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Mclaurin

McLaurin won the last time they faced Richland and things went their way on Friday too. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 49-23 margin over the Rangers. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 25 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McLaurin to victory, but perhaps none more so than KJ Cannon, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds. Cannon is becoming a predictor of the Tigers' success: when he posts at least ten boards the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was TY Williams, who posted ten points and five steals.

McLaurin smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they hit their own glass that hard.

The win (which was McLaurin's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points over those games. As for Richland, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

McLaurin has already played their next game (against Florence), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Richland, they will be playing at home against Magee at 11:30 a.m. on Monday.
