The Mount Tabor Spartans and the Parkland Mustangs will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard on Wednesday.
Mount Tabor waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 64-52 victory over South Stokes.
Meanwhile, Parkland was able to grind out a solid victory over Winston-Salem Christian on Saturday, taking the game 69-58.
Parkland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from SaMaurie Moses, who scored 16 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moses has scored all season. Brock Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.
Mount Tabor has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Parkland, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Mount Tabor took their victory against Parkland in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 77-54. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Parkland's Bryce Jackson, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Now that he won't be playing on Wednesday, will it be that much easier for Mount Tabor to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
