The North Cobb Christian Eagles will be playing at home against the Fannin County Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
North Cobb Christian waltzed into two weeks ago's game with five straight wins but they left with six. They didn't even let Business Engineering Science Tech onto the board and left with a 24-0 victory.
North Cobb Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cooper Bazarsky led the charge by rushing for 55 yards and a touchdown. Michai Rowe was another key contributor, rushing for 65 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Meanwhile, Fannin County was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Haralson County 41-14 on the road. The victory was just what Fannin County needed coming off of a 48-14 defeat in their prior game.
Lawson Sullivan was a one-man wrecking crew for Fannin County as he rushed for 148 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, and also threw for 127 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Taylor, who picked up 59 receiving yards and a touchdown.
North Cobb Christian's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 3-7 Business Engineering Science Tech and 3-7 KIPP Atlanta Collegiate (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 35% over those games). As for Fannin County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-5.
