Westview has gone 6-1 against Rancho Buena Vista recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Wolverines will venture away from home to challenge the Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Westview had to skate by with only a one-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 28-point drubbing they dealt Vista on Friday. The Wolverines really took it to the Panthers for the full four quarters, racking up a 35-7 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 21-0.

Westview didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Vista to a completion percentage of just 44.4%. The team can thank Ezequiel E.Z. Lang-Loveless for the heroic effort on defense: he. Westview has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.6 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.6 in their last three games.
Meanwhile, Rancho Buena Vista entered their tilt with Fallbrook on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 29-20. The game was the first time the Longhorns have beaten the Warriors on their field since November 1, 2019.
Westview better keep an eye on Kaipo Gutierrez. He was instrumental in Rancho Buena Vista's win, rushing for 67 yards and a pair of scores, while also catching one TD. Eric Morales helped out on the ground, rushing for 95 yards.
One reason for the win was Rancho Buena Vista's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Gage Piercy was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.
Rancho Buena Vista's record is now 5-3. As for Westview, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Westview strolled past Rancho Buena Vista when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 14-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
