Basketball Game Preview: Bishop Machebeuf Buffaloes vs. Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles

The Bishop Machebeuf Buffaloes will challenge the Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bishop Machebeuf is coming into the game on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight wins. They managed a 39-33 victory over Front Range Christian on Tuesday.

Bishop Machebeuf relied on the efforts of Aubrey Cichos, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, and Sarai Ramirez, who went 7 for 12 on her way to 15 points along with six boards and three steals. Those three steals gave Ramirez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Penelope Mikita, who posted six points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Bishop Machebeuf smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dayspring Christian Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against Lyons by a score of 47-35 on Tuesday.

Dayspring Christian Academy is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points per game. As for Bishop Machebeuf, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-8.

Bishop Machebeuf was dealt a bruising 59-28 loss at the hands of Dayspring Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Thankfully for Bishop Machebeuf, Eboselulu Omofoma (who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 14 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
