It was a good run, but the Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were beaten by Lower Richland 51-19. Orangeburg-Wilkinson has not had much luck with Lower Richland recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Lower Richland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Pa'nanjala Curry led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds. Chi?nya Isaac was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson's loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-4. As for Lower Richland, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-6.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson will take on Brookland-Cayce at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Orangeburg-Wilkinson is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Brookland-Cayce in South Carolina (Orangeburg-Wilkinson is ranked 57th, while Brookland-Cayce is ranked 200th). As for Lower Richland, they will head out on the road to square off against Dreher at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lower Richland is facing Dreher at the right time seeing as Dreher is stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
