Sequoyah had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Newnan Cougars on Friday as they made off with a 48-28 win. Considering the Chiefs have won seven contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Sequoyah had a senior duo take command as Will Rajecki rushed for 137 yards and three scores and Kolby Martin threw for 195 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. Rajecki's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 101 rushing yards. A healthy portion of Martin's aerial production (116 yards to be exact) went to Brooks Darling.
Sequoyah was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 205 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 159 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.
