Baseball Recap: Uintah's Winning Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Uintah dropped their record down to 11-13 on Friday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Morgan Trojans by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Utes have suffered since March 31st.

As for Morgan, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The win was nothing new for Morgan as they're now sitting on three straight.

For Morgan's part, Camron Talbot spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Morgan let Tyson Talbot and Kanyon Leonelli run wild. Talbot went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Leonelli got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Leonelli has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Luke Bauerle, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Uintah will challenge Union at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Utes will need to watch out since the Cougars have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests. As for Morgan, they will face off against Green Canyon at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Wolves have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.96 runs per game on average), something the Trojans will no doubt try to take advantage of.
