Division IV recap November 19, 2013
North Providence extended the longest winning streak in Division IV this week by beating Exeter-West Greenwich, 27-6. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Cougars.
Hope fell to Tolman 54-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
North Smithfield's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Michael Cicerone threw for 185 and 3 touchdowns and Peter Keenan had 130 yards receiving. On the ground Cody DeMarie contributed 130 yards. Matthew Lachance helped North Smithfield's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 90 yards.
He went 7-12 with 0 interceptions.
DeMarie was the best running back in the league this week. In 6 carries, he ran for 130 yards as the Northmen beat Central Falls. Dylan Narodowy also contributed to the rushing game with 82 yards on the ground.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Keenan. The North Smithfield star has 18 catches for 622 yards.
North Providence made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,876 from 10,276. The improvement was the result of a 27-6 victory over the Scarlet Knights last week.
