The Saratoga Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Cupertino Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Saratoga ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They secured a 53-47 W over Monta Vista.
Meanwhile, Cupertino came tearing into Friday's match with 12 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Lynbrook 43-27. Given Cupertino's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 145th, while Lynbrook is ranked 641st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cupertino to victory, but perhaps none more so than Soham Nighojkar, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Max Feldan was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Saratoga pushed their record up to 11-12 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Cupertino, their victory bumped their record up to 22-1.
Saratoga couldn't quite finish off Cupertino when the teams last played back in January and fell 40-37. Can Saratoga avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
