Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Weeki Wachee's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Weeki Wachee extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Joelys Rodriquez. The Weeki Wachee Hornets took down the Citrus Hurricanes 50-36 on Friday thanks in part to Rodriquez, who almost dropped a triple-double on 14 points, ten rebounds, and nine assists. Those ten boards gave her a new career-high.

Another player making a difference was Rayana Coleman, who posted six points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played.

Despite the loss, Citrus still got an impressive performance from Demi Williamson, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 steals. Rachel Chiles was another key player, putting up four points and eight rebounds.

Weeki Wachee has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.1 points per game. As for Citrus, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-13.

Weeki Wachee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-39 victory against Lecanto on the 28th. Citrus has also already played their next game, a 43-12 win against Angeline Academy of Innovation on the 27th.
