Rolland Williams made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Caleb Hom was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. He has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last nine times he's played. Levi Rickley was another key player, going 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Duval Charter sidestepped Parker for a 4-2 win.
Duval Charter's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Michael Grimaldi, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Duval Charter's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Foundation Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 12-1-1.
Both Foundation Christian Academy and Duval Charter just can't seem to miss. Foundation Christian Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Duval Charter struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
