The Carolina M Mustangs can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cristo Rey Research Triangle 54-13 at home. Given Carolina M's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while the Bulls are ranked 606th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carolina M was led to victory by Rivkah Lloyd and Eliana Mah. Lloyd almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine steals, while Mah scored 20 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Lloyd is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last six games she's played. Abigail Faison was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Carolina M pushed their record up to 10-4 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Cristo Rey Research Triangle, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carolina M will square off against the Colts at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Crossroads Christian is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Cristo Rey Research Triangle, they will challenge the Gnomes at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
