It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Dunedin Falcons with a sharp 9-2 win. Considering the Stallions have won nine matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ava Stevens spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) let Taylor Rebhan and Brigitte Valdera run wild. Rebhan went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Valdera went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Valdera has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Carley Hernandorena, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The victory (which was Somerset Academy (Silver Palms)'s seventh in a row) raised their record to 23-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Dunedin, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 21-6 record.

As of now, neither Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) nor the Falcons have any future games scheduled.
