Elk River's game  on Tuesday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Sartell-St. Stephen Sabres  3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Elks also won the last time the pair played  back in October of 2024.
 Elk River had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23,  16-14.

Elk River's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Addison Hemmer, who  had 22  digs and six  assists. With that strong performance,  Hemmer is now averaging an impressive 10.4  digs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of  Olivia Struck, who  had 13  digs and four  aces.
 Elk River  was lethal from the service line and  finished the match with ten  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least six  aces in seven consecutive  matchups.
 Sartell-St. Stephen's  defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of  Violet Meyer, who  had ten  digs and five  aces, and  Kate Thompson, who  had 42  assists and 11  digs. Thompson has been hot, having  posted 14 or more assists the last eight times she's  played.
Elk River's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Sartell-St. Stephen, their loss  ended  a  three-match streak of away wins  and  brought them to 12-8.
 Looking ahead, Elk River will square off against Maple Grove at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Sartell-St. Stephen, they will face off against St. Cloud Tech at 11:30  a.m.  on Saturday.
