Potomac Valley I recap Sept. 26, 2012
COLIN GUSTINES of Washington ran for the longest rushing play in Potomac Valley I this season against Musselman last week. GUSTINES's team lost to the Applemen as he sprinted for 61 yards on the play and finished with 188 in all.
Frankfort extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Northern, 34-9. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Falcons.
Frankfort's dynamic duo of Gage Shaffer and Cole Smith proved tough for the Huskies to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Shaffer threw for 129 yards and Smith had 65 yards receiving. Thane Cutter helped Frankfort's passing attack out by catching three balls for 49 yards.
Kevin Whiteman's team's Shaffer and Cutter have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Shaffer has thrown for 457 yards this season, while Cutter, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has eight catches for 266 yards. GUSTINES from Mark Hash's team leads the league in rushing with 422 yards.
The Falcons took down Northern 34-9 last week, the largest margin of any game. Damian Morgan ran for 131 yards in the win.
