The McQueen Lancers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They came out on top against Reed by a score of 49-37. That 49-37 margin sets a new team best for McQueen this season.
McQueen's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caitlin Hilson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 rebounds. Hilson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaleigh Fred, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jazmyn Wright, who scored 13 points along with three steals. Those three steals set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Eliana Atlookan, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Reed struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as McQueen pulled down 19 offensive rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for McQueen and bumps their season record up to 3-4. As for Reed, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McQueen will be home for the holidays to greet Galena at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Galena is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Reed, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Damonte Ranch at 12:30 p.m. on December 16th. Damonte Ranch is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
