Softball Recap: Ledford Wins Going Away Against Providence Grove

Ledford's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Providence Grove Patriots. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Leah Leonard spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hailey Hoots was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Grace Henry was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

Ledford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Ledford's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Providence Grove, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7.

Ledford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Providence Grove, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Randleman at 6:00 p.m. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Patriots' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
