The Caroline Cavaliers entered their tilt with the Chancellor Chargers with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Caroline enjoyed a cozy 69-52 win over Chancellor on Thursday. This was payback for Caroline, who suffered a 62-58 loss the last time these two teams met.
Several Chargers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Larell Edwards, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds. Edwards is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played. Seth Hunter was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds and five steals.
Caroline pushed their record up to 7-6 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Chancellor, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.
Caroline on the road again on Friday and play against Courtland at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. As for Chancellor, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Spotsylvania at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Spotsylvania will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 412th, while Chancellor is ranked 180th).
