West Iredell is 1-9 against North Lincoln since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The West Iredell Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the North Lincoln Knights at 7:30 p.m. West Iredell is no doubt hoping to put an end to an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 103-51, which was the final score in West Iredell's tilt against Hickory on Friday. West Iredell has struggled against Hickory recently, as their match on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, North Lincoln can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 87-43 win over Foard. Given North Lincoln's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Foard is ranked 472nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kellen Karr was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Tanner Lineberger, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.
West Iredell's defeat dropped their record down to 2-19. As for North Lincoln, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-5.
West Iredell suffered a grim 84-58 defeat to North Lincoln in their previous meeting back in January. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point West Iredell was down 53-25.
