The Briggsdale Falcons had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They really took it to Peetz for the full four quarters, racking up a 70-31 victory at home. Briggsdale has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Briggsdale's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kayl Klem, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Klem is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Jenna Krise was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six assists and four steals.
Jaidynn Reiman and Skye Lefever certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Reiman scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Lefever scored seven points.
Peetz struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Briggsdale pulled down 19 offensive rebounds.
Briggsdale's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points per game. As for Peetz, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
Briggsdale won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Flatirons Academy at 3:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Flatirons Academy will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Briggsdale surely won't give up without a fight. As for Peetz, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Potter-Dix at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Peetz has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
